Our after-school youth training program focus on plyometrics, strength, and agility aim to enhance a child’s athletic abilities through a combination of exercises that improve their power, muscle strength, and coordination.
1. Plyometrics: This training involves exercises that focus on explosive movements, like jump squats, box jumps, and bounding. These exercises help improve a child’s power, speed, and overall explosiveness, which can be beneficial in sports like basketball, soccer, or track. Plyometric exercises work by rapidly stretching the muscles (eccentric phase) and then contracting them (concentric phase), helping athletes move faster and with more force.
2. Strength: Strength training for youth focuses on developing muscle strength through bodyweight exercises (like push-ups, squats, and lunges) and light resistance training. The goal isn’t necessarily to build bulk but to develop functional strength that can be applied in everyday activities or sports. Proper form and technique are emphasized to reduce the risk of injury and to ensure healthy muscle development.
3. Agility: Agility training involves exercises designed to improve a child’s ability to change direction quickly and efficiently. This could include ladder drills, cone drills, or shuttle runs. Agility is important for nearly every sport and helps children improve their reaction times, balance, and coordination, which are critical for making quick decisions on the field or court.
4. Games & Fun: The youth will play a variety of sports games some new, some old. This gives the opportunity to Fuel Their Passion and learn each games rules, plus tips & treat to master the skills in the game.
These training sessions not only enhance athletic performance but also promote overall physical fitness, boost self-confidence, and teach discipline, teamwork, and goal-setting. Additionally, they can help reduce the risk of injuries by improving movement patterns and strengthening muscles, ligaments, and tendons
